California consumer advocacy group announced June 8 , 2009 the initiation of a Federal Class-Action Lawsuit against UDR, Inc.  In the present case, the class members will include tenants that resided in one of UDR’s 48 apartment communities in the state of California during the period June, 2007 to the present. 

Preliminary causes of action are numerous violations of tenant civil rights, California state landlord-tenant law contained in the California Civil Code, Securities & Exchange Commission violations, and California Public Utilities Commission regulations.
